Visit Kent

Visit Kent tourism campaign video production and photography case study. Spotlight.

When Visit Kent relaunched under Kent County Council in 2026, they came to Indigo Productions to announce their arrival. The result was ‘More Than You’ve Heard’: a single hero film, fifteen social reels and a brand photography library, telling three audiences three completely different days out on the Kent coast.

The Kent Coast: More Than You've Heard

The hero film for Visit Kent's ‘More Than You’ve Heard’ campaign, shot on a 6K RED camera through vintage 1960s lenses for a warm, filmic look. It follows three audiences, Gen Z, families and empty nesters, through three different days out on the Kent coast.

Locations: The Kent coast, filmed across multiple coastal districts
Deliverables: Hero film, social reels, photography and London Underground print campaign

The brief.

When Visit Kent relaunched under Kent County Council in 2026, they needed more than a fresh look. They needed a campaign that would shake things up and announce their arrival, giving people a reason to see the Kent coast differently. They came to Indigo Productions to make it happen.

Our approach.

We built the campaign, ‘More Than You’ve Heard’, around a single hero film, deliberately steering away from the usual beach postcard shots. Instead, we shone a light on the unexpected: coastal saunas and wild sea dips, standout seafood restaurants, shepherd’s hut glamping at Elmley, and open water canoeing.

The film follows the shape of a real day out, from morning through lunch, an afternoon on the beach, an evening meal and, finally, rest, told three times over through three distinct audiences: Gen Z, families and empty nesters, each living that same day differently.

We shot on a 6K RED camera through vintage 1960s lenses, giving the whole campaign a warm, filmic quality that set it apart from typical tourism content. Alongside the hero film and a full library of brand photography, we produced fifteen social reels, from fifteen-second stings to sixty-second cuts, so each audience’s story could be told in full.

The outcome.

The campaign launched as Visit Kent’s most ambitious coastal push to date. The photography anchored a print campaign across 109 sites on the London Underground, part of an Out of Home push expected to generate 12.6 million impressions on its own, contributing to 20.7 million total impressions and 120,000 expected clicks across paid social, search, programmatic and organic channels.

With European holidaymakers among the core audience, the campaign’s reach extended well beyond the county, running from spring through early autumn to reach millennials, young couples, families and empty nesters alike.

Built for the feed.

Example social-first reels from the Visit Kent shoot, ranging from fifteen-second stings to sixty-second story cuts, each one following a different audience through their day on the Kent coast.

Beyond the postcard.

A library of brand photography for Visit Kent, shot across the Kent coast to anchor the campaign. Thirty-two frames from the shoot, including stills that ran across 109 sites on the London Underground.
