Contact is a charity that supports families with disabled children. In recognition of their amazing work they were awarded funding from the Major of London to create a series of animated films highlighting issues that can disproportionately effect those caring for disabled children. These high profile films were designed to raise awareness of Strep A and seek to explain the complexities around claiming disability living allowance.
At Indigo we instantly knew that an animated film would be the most effective way for Contact to raise awareness. An animated film can convey a lot of information in a short space of time whilst navigating sensitive issues and communicating to a diverse audience.
One of the key requirements of these films was to make them accessible to Londons diverse range of cultures. Multiple versions of each film were created, in Arabic, Somali and Polish, to ensure they reached the widest possible audience.

An animated film explaining the many complexities of DLA.
We had no previous experience of producing an animation, but Indigo’s expertise and guidance helped us feel reassured and confident that we’d have an excellent end-product on time and within budget. Indigo offered solutions to our initial concerns, like how to successfully communicate what was quite complex information. Our animation was played 14,000 times in its first few months and is a useful asset we’ll share year on year with the families we support.
